Embrace dental bonding!

FAQs about this affordable, fast, and conservative way to dramatically enhance smiles

Benefit from the attention to detail and considerable talents of the team at Dr. Rafetto’s Bright Dental. We ensure that no stone is left unturned and no item is too trivial when making over your gapped, chipped, stubbornly stained, and otherwise “cosmetically imperfect” teeth with dental bonding.

What is dental bonding?

Bonding refers to a cosmetic dental procedure that attaches a resin material to your natural tooth structure. Our talented and highly skilled dentist, Dr. Brianna Rafetto, precisely prepares and shapes a resin dental material to aesthetically alter the teeth. Bonding can be used to correct an array of imperfections, including spacing between teeth, oddly-sized teeth and irregularly-shaped teeth. After the material is attached to the tooth, it “covers up” the imperfections – effectively making them disappear!

How long does it take?

You can walk into our office with a smile that you dislike and walk out with a transformed smile that you love to show off. In fact, few dentistry procedures are as efficient at dramatically revamping the teeth that play such a central role in this all-important feature of your face. There is no return visit necessary. Think of it as a “one appointment and done” process.

But how will it look?

You can trust Dr. Rafetto’s attention to detail, and exacting planning and bonding process. Dr. Rafetto takes great care to properly color-match the composite resin to the surrounding teeth. Additionally, she uses the latest techniques and bonding agents to properly apply and secure this dental composite to the teeth.

Will it hurt?

No! In fact, dental bonding is tolerated so well that it often does not require any numbing or local anesthetic. This is due to the fact that minimal tooth structure is removed during the process. When the tooth is reduced, sensitivity or discomfort can arise. Since this step is not always necessary with bonding, most cases will not feel any pain. This feature also makes bonding a particularly conservative procedure! The healthy, natural tooth structure is preserved. It can also be easily reversed, though we know you will want to maintain the dazzling results that are achieved so comfortably, quickly, and cost-effectively with bonding.

How do I care for my treated teeth?

Dr. Rafetto will advise you on ways to keep your improved tooth structure strong, healthy, and looking great. Generally, the composite should be treated like the natural tissues. Maintain your usual, good and consistent brushing and flossing. Do not skip any “check-ups” and cleanings at our office in Middletown, DE. Also, be sure to avoid any behaviors or habits that could damage the material, including chewing on ice, and biting fingernails and using your teeth as tools.
